Femke Neyt (2000), a photographer from Ghent, graduated from Narafi in Brussels in 2022. Her work is rooted in the personal. To her, photography is not an end in itself, but a way to feel, to process and to connect. The lens is her silent witness, an extension of her view of the world, and she uses it to record delicate contrasts, emotions and nature’s subtle nuances. She gains inspiration from walks in nature and the complexities of her own inner consciousness. Her images explore themes such as vulnerability, growth, quiet and presence. Light and shadow play important roles in her work, as symbols of concepts which aren’t easily expressed in words. Femke’s photography evokes the idea of a visual diary: honest and intimate, yet open to the viewer’s own interpretation.
