Katerina Belkina (1974) lives and works near Berlin. She is originally from Samara, a city in the European part of Russia. Her education in fine art and photography gave her the tools to express her ideas. Katerina explores the psychology of interhuman relationships and our relationship to the world in her endeavour to express human emotions through her art, delving into all the facets of joy, despair, indifference, delight and envy. To give shape and substance to the images she wants to create, her own face and body are her most important instruments, standing before the camera to embody various roles. Katrina’s mystical self-portraits were previously on display in exhibitions in Moscow and Paris and she has won multiple awards.
