After a decade in the fashion industry in Antwerp and Paris, culminating in a stint as commercial director at the Belgian fashion house A.F. Vandevorst, Klaartje Lambrechts (1976) chose a new artistic path in 2012. Her photographs speak a pure, at times vulnerable visual language, placing human emotion and cultural curiosity centre stage. Klaartje seeks out the deeper layers of the human condition, emphasising this complexity through subtle lighting and aesthetically refined compositions. Her work has received international acclaim and was nominated for prestigious awards such as the Grand Prix de la Découverte and the Sony World Photography Award. In 2011, the Antwerp-based photographer won the Weekend Knack Award, themed 'Food is Fashion'.
